Russians Have Never Stopped Spying on Us   Comments Comments

By Alan Caruba

It is not for nothing that Vladimir Putin, the president of the Russian Republic, is a former member of the KGB. From its earliest days, Soviet Russia maintained a vast army of spies around the world and penetrating the United States remained high on its list of priorities.

In 2001, the Federal Bureau of Investigation arrested Robert Hanssen, a FBI special agent who was a Russian spy, judged to be one of the most damaging moles in U.S. history. As Bill Gertz, a Washington Times reporter, notes in his latest book, “Enemies: How America’s Foes Steal Our Vital Secrets—and How We Let It Happen”, “Today, nearly 140 nations and some 35 known and suspected terrorist groups target the United States through espionage, according to intelligence officials.”

“Over the past several decades, foreign agents have penetrated every U.S. national security agency except the Coast Guard. That includes the CIA, the FBI, the National Security Agency, the Defense Intelligence Agency, the Defense Department, the State Department, and the Energy Department.”

FRC Urges Massachusetts Legislature to ‘Let the People Vote!’   Comments Comments

Washington, D.C. - Family Research Council (FRC) President Tony Perkins released the following statement in response to a ruling by the Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts which found that the Massachusetts legislature violated the state constitution by refusing a vote on a constitutional amendment defining marriage as the union between one man and one woman:

"The court is hypocritical in this decision. Three years ago, the court created this conflict by imposing same-sex marriage. It's time the people were given a voice now that both the court and the legislature has trampled upon 5000 years of human history and the nation's oldest state constitution.

"In Massachusetts, we have lawmakers who are so under the sway of the homosexual activists that they refuse to carry out their duty under the state constitution. It is not going too far to conclude that the citizens of Massachusetts no longer live in a democracy; rather they live in an oligarchy where their elected representatives flaunt the constitution at will.

"There is only one day left in the legislature's session this year. No legislator in Massachusetts can pretend that they are not constitutionally obligated to vote on this provision - the court's decision made that clear."

Looking Behind The “Purpose Driven” Sheep’s Clothing   Comments Comments

by Christopher Adamo

The facade is beginning to peel back from the so-called ministry of Southern California Pastor Rick Warren, author of "The Purpose Driven Church" and "The Purpose Driven Life." Unfortunately, many among his ample flock have far too much invested in him, both emotionally and otherwise, to admit their mistakes and cut their losses.

Moreover, he certainly faces no possibility of in-depth scrutiny from the "mainstream media," as his brand of "Christianity" poses little or no threat to their liberal social agenda. Yet to the degree that anyone at all questions Warren as anything less than authentic, his response is thoroughly telling as to his true character, as well as the nature of his "ministry."

Joseph Farah, editor in chief of the premiere Internet news site, "World Net Daily," opened a can of worms by calling Warren to account over his fawning praise of the terrorist stronghold of Syria. While there, Warren lauded the brutish dictatorship as "peaceful," claiming that the Islamist government does not officially sanction "extremism of any kind."

When confronted by Farah, an American of middle-eastern decent who knows too well the history of horror and tragedy faced by persecuted Christians in that region of the world, Warren immediately denied ever making such statements.

Michigan’s Hezbollah Connection   Comments Comments

by Jim Kouri, CPP

Rep. John Dingell, a Michigan Democrat, proclaimed himself neutral — "I don't take sides for or against Hezbollah; I don't take sides for or against Israel," he said — there appears to be problems of Hezbollah activities within his and fellow traveler Rep. John Conyer's own backyard.

A Dearborn Heights MI, man pleaded guilty on recently to charges of conspiracy to violate the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act (RICO) and using illegally obtained funds to help finance the terrorist group Hezbollah.

Youssef Aoun Bakri, 36, pleaded guilty in federal court as he stood before US District Judge Gerald E. Rosen. The original indictment charged Bakri and other defendants with operating a criminal enterprise to traffic in contraband cigarettes and counterfeit goods, producing counterfeit cigarette tax stamps, and laundering money.

Most troubling was the fact that part of the profits made from the illegal enterprise were given to Hezbollah, a designated foreign terrorist organization (DFTO), according to the indictment.

CAIR: The Other Fifth Column   Comments Comments

by Jim Kouri, CPP

The Islamic terrorists Fifth Column in the US — no, not the news media, the other Fifth Column — the Council on American-Islamic Relations is once again at the forefront of mischief-making in their goal of undermining US efforts in combating terrorism.

CAIR is encouraging Muslims to file civil rights complaints and lawsuits if the "feel" they are being discriminated against by US airlines. Citing what it called the "airport profiling" of six imams removed from a recent US Airways flight, CAIR said Muslims traveling this month to the holy site in Saudi Arabia need to be aware of their rights.

"Given the increase in the number of complaints CAIR has received alleging airport profiling of American Muslims, we believe it is important that all those taking part in this year's hajj be aware of their legal and civil rights," said Ibrahim Hooper, CAIR spokesman.

A Stable Sign   Comments Comments

by Garold Andersen

"When Mary gave birth to her firstborn son, she wrapped him in
cloth and laid him in a manger, as there was no room in the inn.
(The angel said to the shepherds,) 'This will be a sign for you: you
will find the child wrapped in cloth and lying in a manger.'" (Luke 2:7&12)

As a child, my first impression of the nativity scene was simple: a cozy image of Christmas. When I later understood that Jesus was born in a stable because his parents had been turned away from the inn, it made me angry. I despised the innkeeper for his lack of compassion. Then I thought, "Wait a minute; perhaps someone else was to blame. Maybe Joseph hadn't planned the trip well or Mary, fearing the journey, had drug her feet, or it could have been the Roman officials who had not given them enough time to plan for the journey." In the end I was missing the point. Instead of seeing the amazing work of God I was searching for someone to blame.

Will Liberals Ever Recognize The Constitution?   Comments Comments

Will Liberals ever recognize the Constitution and its authority? That is a serious question. Because every day that passes convinces me more and more that the political left has no interest in doing so. At least they have no interest if they cannot lie about what it says as a means to twist it for their own ends. I have found over the years that the response to any mention of the Constitution and its limits on government power is usually simply "Constitution? We don't need no stinkin' Constitution!"

Each sentence I write has significance in the point that it is making. And when I pontificate on topics of how our elected officials overstep the restraints on their power I try to make a habit of using history to prove my point by quoting the Constitution. Whatever the issues happen to be, such citations are to show that my ideas are not "radical" and are designed to lay the ground work for showing how those that disagree with me ignore the real issues and are the real "radicals". And without fail when the responses of the political left are rather typical.

Take for example the article I wrote two weeks ago. "Go West Young Liberals! Go West!" was a perfect example of how the left really never addresses the issues but instead plays a sinister game of hide the salami. The whole purpose of which is to avoid the truth.

"Go West Young Liberals!" was a dissertation about how the California Assembly passed a bill to grant all Californians health care coverage managed by the State and to be paid for (of course) by taxing California workers. In the article I cited two major breaches of the Constitution that this law brought up. First, was that it interfered with Article I, Section 10 which, in association with the 14th Amendment, prevents states from interfering with the freedom of the people to contract with whomever they wanted to for legal services. This law would instead say that you only have the right to contract with the State and Click to read more …

Jesus Is The Reason For The Season   Comments Comments

by James Robison

"For unto us a Child is born,
Unto us a Son is given;
And the government will be upon His shoulder.
And His name will be called
Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
(Isaiah 9:6)

How precious it is to hold a tiny baby! I have eleven grandchildren, and I remember holding each one of them for the first time. So sweet and innocent. Such a miracle! These babies are my grandchildren–my children's children–and my heart is so full of love for each one of them. Watching them grow from that tiny package of potential into children of the Lord is one of the greatest joys God has given me.

Politics and the Spirit of Christmas   Comments Comments

By Thomas E. Brewton

The socialistic welfare state is extolled by liberal-socialistic- progressives as more Christian then Christianity, because the welfare state purports to help the needy. So did Hitler's National Socialism.

Traditional Christmas spirit, depicted in Charles Dickens's A Christmas Carol, was the warmth of family gatherings, friendship, and loving kindness to everyone.

Today, however, many people insist that socialism IS Christianity.

It's certainly true that the early churches established by the Apostle Paul grew rapidly, because people found there the Christian love and fellowship, as well as support for the poor, sick, elderly, and disabled, that was available nowhere else.

The socialist political state, however, is expressly atheistic and materialistic. There can therefore be no identity between Christianity and socialism, simply on the superficial basis that they nominally espouse some of the same objectives.

The collectivized compulsion of the socialistic state is exemplified by bureaucratic rules mandating certain conduct, described in tens of millions of regulations.

The spirit of Christmas is written in every individual human heart.

Police Organizations Slam NY College for Honoring Cop-Killer, Terrorist   Comments Comments

by Jim Kouri, CPP

Several police organizations are up in arms over a taxpayer funded college honoring a cop-killer and domestic terrorist.

"The cowardly school administration at the City College of New York have allowed a student community room to be named in honor of a domestic terrorist and cop-killer," said officials from the National Association of Chiefs of Police in a statement.

"You can bet your life they'd never allow the center to be called The Jesus Christ Community Center."

The New York City college students who share the community room named for the escaped cop killer Assata Shakur proclaimed their love for the fugitive murderer.

Members of seven campus groups also commended the school administration for allowing them to work in the name of a domestic "terrorist" now believed to be hiding in Cuba.

"And we consider her a hero and role model for standing up for our people and putting her life on the line."
