WHY PROPERTY RIGHTS MATTER

Our view of reality and the role of government in our lives greatly influence how we view property rights. Americans no longer have the opportunity to learn the foundations of freedom and to understand what it really means to have the God-given right to "life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness" as penned by Thomas Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence. Since the 1970s, we are increasingly following another system of governance that is systematically destroying the very principle that has made America the greatest nation in the history of the world.

America is in a war of world views between the principles of freedom laid down by John Locke (1632-1704) in his Two Treatises on Government (1689) and Jean Jacques Rousseau in his Social Contract (1762) and Discourse on the Origin of Inequality (1754). Government's purpose, according to Locke, is to join with others to "unite, for the mutual preservation of their lives, liberties and estate, which I call by the general name, property." According to Locke, the primary reason for government "is the preservation of their property." (Italics added) This fundamental principle became the cornerstone of the Declaration of Independence and the United States Constitution.

Rousseau attacked Locke's model, arguing that individuality and property rights divide man by focusing on self-interest and greed rather than the good of society. He claims that property rights bind the poor thereby giving "new powers to the rich" that destroys "natural liberty" and equality and converts "usurpation into unalterable right." He argues for the creation of the common good as embodied through an abstract, public will that he called the 'general will'. In his model, the enlightened state determines the general will of the people through the force of law, including how property will be used. Rousseau provided the foundational philosophy that spawned the bloody French Revolution and inspired the writings of Immanuel Kant, Georg W. F. Hegel and Karl Marx and many others, thereby planting the seeds for the European model of socialism and Russian communism.

The Facade

The "Islam" that Muslim activists introduce to the West these days is completely different from the Islam we knew and experienced in the Middle East. This is a new edition - revised, modified, expanded and abridged - of the real Islam. A major facelift operation has been taking place here.

To their credit, I must acknowledge that the international Islamization movement, in recent years, has grown much in both intelligence and sophistication. They lacked power, so they decided to be smart. Since they could no longer use the sword to conquer the world, as they once did, they decided to use more cunning methods, taking advantage of democracy in the West.

The following are some of the methods Muslim activists are now adopting:

1. Change of Identity

   Muslim activists in the West avoid referring to teachings that may offend the Western citizen, such as the Islamic code of punishment.

   They stress that they believe in Moses and Jesus. They refrain from calling Jews and Christians "infidels", nor would they call them "Zionists" or "Crusaders".

   The last thing they want to do is to shock people. They once had a Muslim host on their TV. program with a Christian name, "Paul"; names like Mohammed, Mustafa and Omar were too strong to swallow they thought. They use the term "Sunday School" in place of "Friday Class", and they end their speeches with the Christian expression "may God bless you".

   They boast about being Americans, and have the American flag cover the background of their program set. This is the same flag Muslims burn in their daily rituals in Islamic countries, calling America "The great Satan".
    

2. Change of Vocabulary

   Instead of living in isolation from society, they are using now a completely new terminology. Words like love, grace… are now part of their vocabulary. Theological Christian terms such as : Salvation, Justification and Sanctification are now part of their teachings.

   They change Quranic translations to hide some of Islam's harsh teachings.

   An example is the new French translation of the Quran which has caused tremendous furor among Muslim fundamentalists. The translation attempted to please Jews by modifying some verses of the Quran that condemned Jews. An example is a verse that used to read "The people of Israel, after sowing corruption twice on earth for the purpose of dominating other people, will push themselves up into a position of extreme power before being punished by God."

   The new translation reads just the opposite: "The people of Israel will be twice destroyed as an innocent victim, and God will reward them by elevating them to great heights."

Many of Same Congressmen are Pushing New Guest-Worker Amnesty Schemes

APPLETON, WI — In 1986, after years of heated wrangling over immigration, Congress passed — and President Reagan signed — the Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986 (IRCA).

Amnesty proponents in Congress made various claims that, in the intervening 20 years, have been proven to be demonstrably false. Some members of the current Congress who voted for the ’86 bill are still in Congress and are still pushing amnesty bills and other immigration-related legislation that, based on past experience, is almost certain to exacerbate immigration problems.

The most intensely debated feature of the 1986 legislation was an amnesty for illegal aliens who met various qualifications. At the time, the amnesty advocates in Congress, the media and the militant migrant lobby placed the number of aliens who would qualify for the amnesty at around 1 million. But the actual number of illegal aliens who applied was more than three times that number, or 3.1 million. Most of them — 2.7 million — were rushed through and given a free pass on the road to citizenship.

Amnesty proponents had insisted that it would be impossible to enforce our borders and try to deport the many who had come here illegally. The only workable solution, they argued, would be to allow the aliens who were already here to stay, and then commit sufficient resources to enforce U.S. borders, so that more waves of migrants would not make it into the U.S. With these enforcement promises, enough members of Congress were convinced to vote for the bill, despite the amnesty provision.

However, after the creation of 2.7 million new “amnestied” aliens, Congress reneged on its promise to enforce U.S. borders, and after 20 years, they are in more desperate shape than ever, according to experts. The U.S. Border Patrol is still hopelessly undermanned and under-funded.

Regardless, the same amnesty proponents have come back repeatedly since 1986 and enacted additional amnesties — all the while doing nothing to enforce U.S. borders, as they repeatedly have promised to do. Numbers USA counts six amnesties since the ‘86 IRCA:

• Section 245(i) Amnesty, 1994: Temporary rolling amnesty for 578,000 illegal aliens.
• Section 245(i) Extension Amnesty, 1997: Extension of 1994 rolling amnesty.
• Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA), 1997: An amnesty for close to one million illegal aliens from Central America.
• Haitian Refugee Immigration Fairness Act Amnesty (HRIFA), 1998: An amnesty for 125,000 illegal aliens from Haiti.
• Late Amnesty, 2000: Amnesty for illegal aliens who claim they should have been amnestied under the 1986 IRCA amnesty, an estimated 400,000 illegal aliens.
• LIFE Act Amnesty, 2000: A reinstatement of the rolling Section 245(i) amnesty, for an estimated 900,000 illegal aliens.

Many of the same Congressional amnesty proponents are back again, demanding an even larger amnesty for untold millions and, in addition, a “guest worker” program that will translate into an ongoing, continuous amnesty for millions more.

One hundred and two members of the current House and Senate were serving in Congress in 1986 and voted on the IRCA bill. It is very rare that a Congressional vote cast so many years ago can be used to impact current politicians. But this is an issue that is galvanizing American voters as few others have ever done. The IRCA vote could, however, be used to force today’s Congress to do what is right for America — or force them out of office in November.

Many of the events discussed by J. Grant Swank in this article come to be after this article was written. There is no doubt, America is under siege just as Great Britain and other European countries.

Schools will instruct pupils on the "religion of peace," Islam. Now Islamic speakers are invited into school systems to teach faculty and principals about the goodness of Islam.

Mosque clerics will be regarded the same as the Methodist minister down the street. After all, a cleric is a cleric.

Liberal groups such as the Episcopal Church, Unitarian-Universalist Society, and United Church of Christ (Congregational) will look upon Islam as a world religion among religions, thus deserving equal space with Christianity and Judaism.

Local clergy associations will welcome Muslim clerics into their fellowship.

Liberal politicians will champion Islam as compatible with America because they will believe the lies on 4000 Muslim web sites. After all, America welcomes all equally.

Even conservative personages such as US President George W. Bush will give allegiance to Islam as a good component of the community, just as he and his wife placed the Koran in the White House library for the first time this winter. They did so at a banquet for Muslim leaders in America.

Theologically conservative leaders such as Billy Graham’s son, Franklin Graham, will be black listed for publishing factual books exposing Islam as a violent cult. He already has suffered such. He has been silenced by the liberal element in the United States.

Politicians and religious liberals will regard "peace religion" Islam as being highjacked by "insurgents" and "terrorists" rather than realizing that all Muslims are aligned with the same killing passages replete in the unholy book, the Koran.

Schools will set aside rooms for Muslim prayers during school hours. Airports will follow suit. Independent living residential communities will follow suit. Just as they have chapels, they will have mosque centers.

To quote H.R. 5013: “In the wake of Hurricane Katrina, certain agencies confiscated the firearms of [citizens of the State of Louisiana], in contravention of the Second Amendment, depriving these citizens of the right to keep and bear arms and rendering them helpless against criminal activity.”

The “Disaster Recovery Personal Protection Act of 2006” (H.R. 5013 in the House and S. 2599 in the Senate) would prohibit federal law enforcement officers, military officers, or others operating under federal law or receiving federal funds, while operating in support of an emergency relief operation, from seizing any firearm that would normally be legal to possess.

Additionally, officials may not require registration of any firearm, or prohibit possession of any firearm, if such actions would not normally be required in non-emergency situations. They may also not order the disarming of persons otherwise authorized to carry firearms, simply because those individuals are operating under the control of a federal agency in an emergency relief operation.

This legislation would prevent the opening of an impending loophole in the Second Amendment. Would-be tyrants could brand any situation an “emergency” in order to suspend the right to keep and bear arms. H.R. 5013/S. 2599 would nip that idea in the bud. The proposal has 106 cosponsors in the House and 13 in the Senate.

Islam is more than a religion; It is a comprehensive way of life. The Quran (believed by Muslims to be God's word), and the Hadith (Mohammed's sayings as recorded by Al Bukhari), prescribe numerous regulations governing every aspect of the social, political, economical, as well as religious life. The belief that "Islam is a religion and a state" is an integral part of the Islamic religion.

Let's examine what Islam would do if it ruled America. What would happen to the values and institutions that we hold dear?

First: Liberty

The United States was built on the Bill of Rights, established by the founding fathers who came here to escape religious oppression. The Constitution gives citizens the right to express themselves as they please, to criticize the president if they believe he is wrong, to worship in the way they want and to act in any way they see appropriate as long as they don't violate the rights of others.

What would happen to this freedom in an Islamic state? Would the citizens be granted the right to choose the religion they want, or would they be forced into Islam according to the Quranic verse: "If any one desires a religion other than Islam, never will it be accepted of him, and in the hereafter he will be in the ranks of those who have lost." (Surah 3:85). How about the right of a Muslim to change his own religion? Would he be given this right or would he be punished according to the apostasy rule which states that such a person should be punished by death? Mohammed said "Whoever changes his religion, kill him." Al Bukhari Vol. 9:57

Do Muslim activists want us to have the same rights granted to the citizens of an Islamic country such as Saudi Arabia, where women are not allowed to drive an automobile and no one can worship openly according to any religion other than Islam? Do they want us to be ruled by a ruler such as Khomeini, who issued an order to murder a writer, Salman Rushdie, just because he dared to criticize Islam ? Even in a moderate Islamic state such as Egypt, Christians have to obtain a presidential decree to be able to build a church. They face discrimination in all aspects of their lives, including education, employment and promotions.

Second: Democracy

Our present system in the USA gives the citizens the right to rule themselves, to write the laws that will govern their lives, to decide the amount of taxes to be collected from them and how it will be spent.

One important principle in this great system is the separation of church and state. Islam, however, is built on an opposing concept, for "Islam is a religion and a state." According to Islam, the Quran is the principal source of legislation: "We have sent down to thee the book in truth, that you might judge men as guided by God." (Surah 4:105). If the Quran is the law, what are some of the rules and regulations that will be imposed? Here are just a few examples:

Prisons in Muslim countries are known to be centers of torture rather than rehabilitation.

The View from 1776 

In 1639 representatives from the Puritan towns of Windsor, Hartford, and Wethersfield in the Connecticut River Valley assembled in Hartford to create the world’s first written constitution that established a functioning government.  It was the progenitor of the Constitution of the United States.

Students are not told anything about this aspect of our history.  Instead they are taught that Puritanism was a theocratic, and therefore wholly repressive and undemocratic, mode of society.  Thus, in the left-wing liberal construction, to form the United States, Americans had to reject Judeo-Christianity and the Puritanism on which New England was founded. 

What progressive historians such as Charles A. Beard and Vernon L. Parrington have taught since the early 1900s is that the true spirit of American history is rooted in the 1789 French Revolution, which suppressed Christianity and turned France toward the atheistic materialism of socialism.  Students are taught, by implication if not directly, that the French Revolution’s stirring motto, “Liberty, Equality, and Brotherhood,” expresses the true nature of American democracy. 

Students are taught that the Declaration of Independence was a hypocritical document, because Thomas Jefferson wrote that all men are created equal (this is a deliberate misrepresentation, as Jefferson was speaking not of slavery but of the estate of mankind under God).  Students are taught that the French Revolution’s Declaration of Rights of Man and of the Citizen expresses the true aspiration of American democracy, which in liberals’ view ought to be the French-style socialistic welfare-state.

Our hunt for Bin Laden has slowed, but his deadly terrorist activities continue full speed. When the CIA had a fighting chance to capture him, they never received the military ground support to complete the mission back in 2001. He escaped to Pakistan and continues to gather more strength commanding increasing deadly terrorist attacks.

In an interview with CNN Michael Scheuer spoke openly about Bin Laden:

Michael Scheuer, who once headed the CIA's bin Laden unit, says bin Laden has been given permission by a young cleric in Saudi Arabia authorizing al Qaeda to "use nuclear weapons against the United States … capping the casualties at 10 million."

"He's had an approval, a religious approval for 10 million deaths?" I asked him.

"Yes," Scheuer responded. (CNN)

Unfortunately, Bin Laden has been using videos to tell th world what he will be dong, and the proposed death of 10 million Americans.

After the collapse of communism, almost everyone heaved a sigh of relief. Many thought that all threats to our freedom had finally vanished. Unfortunately, this proved to be wishful thinking.

Today, there is a more dangerous movement that is working inside America. Its name is Islam and its goal is to convert all Americans into Muslims and transform the United States into an Islamic nation. The following statements made by Muslim leaders reflect that reality:

" Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind sheikh, was convicted of engaging in a seditious conspiracy that included the 1993 World Trade Center attack and the foiled plot to bomb New York City landmarks, including the United Nations and the Lincoln and Holland tunnels. In 1991, the sheikh called on Muslims to "conquer the lands of the infidels."

" Isma'il Al-Faruqi, a very influential Muslim leader claimed in 1983 that "Nothing could be greater than this youthful, vigorous, and rich continent (North America) turning away from its past evil and marching forward under the banner of Allahu Akbar (Allah is great)."

" Imam Siraj Wahhaj was the first imam (Muslim clergy) to offer a Muslim prayer in the U.S. House of Representatives. Imam Siraj Wahhaj was the Imam of Masjid Al-Taqwa in Brookyn, New York. He received Imam training at Ummul Qura University of Makkah in 1978 and has gone on to become a national and international speaker for Islam. He believes that if Muslims unite, they could elect their own leader as president, "Take my word; if 6-8 million Muslims unite in America, the country will come to us."

" Imam Zaid Shakir was the former Muslim chaplain at Yale University. He is a political science professor, and very active on the Islamic speaker circuit. He believes that the Quran "pushes us in the exact opposite direction to the forces at work in the American political spectrum." As a result he maintains that Muslims cannot accept the legitimacy of the existing system.

" Ahmad Nawfal, a well-known Jordanian speaker, says that if fundamentalist Muslims stand up, "it will be very easy for us to preside over this world once again."

" At a Muslim convention held in San Jose, just one month after the atrocities of Sept. 11, 2001, one of the delegates declared: "By the year 2020, we should have an American Muslim president of the United States."

Washington, D.C. − Concerned Women for America (CWA) draws attention to an annual back-to-school survey about risky teen behavior released by The National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse (CASA) at Columbia University. The random-sample national survey of over 1,000 teens and nearly 600 parents is a warning to parents. The survey suggests that parents are the last to know when their teens are involved in drug and alcohol abuse. At least a third of teens go to parties at homes where alcohol and drugs are used even though parents are present. CWA urges parents to become aware of the risks facing their teenagers and take action to protect them.

Dr. Janice Shaw Crouse, Senior Fellow of CWA’s Beverly LaHaye Institute, said, “There are simple things that parents can do to protect their children. The most important is for the mother and father to be married to each other. Lots of people think that household structure is irrelevant; but experts agree that every other household arrangement is inferior to the married-parents family when it comes to children’s well-being. Any other household arrangement puts the kids at risk.”

“It’s a shame,” said Crouse, “that celebrities and others think that their money and material benefits will make up for the lack of parental commitment to each other and to the kids.”

Crouse added, “A major message coming out of the CASA study is that parents sometimes are blind to what is going on in their teens’ lives. More than twice as many teens have a problem with drugs and alcohol than parents realize.”

According to the CASA survey, only 12 percent of parents see their kids having a problem with drugs and alcohol; 27 percent of kids say it is a big deal for them. Fully 80 percent of parents believe that their kids avoid parties involving alcohol and drugs, yet 50 percent of teens admit to going to such parties.

Other important information from the survey:

The early teenage years –– ages 13-14 –– are especially vulnerable ones; that’s when teens tend to start experimenting with drugs and alcohol.

Kids who eat dinner with their family and attend church services are at less risk.

Kids who get a good night of sleep––more than eight hours each night––are at less risk.

The gender gap has closed—girls’ substance abuse risk is equal to boys’.
